Libya faces significant climate challenges that affect various regions differently. Despite these challenges, the voices of youth, who are key stakeholders in addressing climate change, are often underrepresented. The Riyadah 13 project aims to empower young Libyan visionaries to take an active role in climate action by providing them with a platform to develop and showcase innovative solutions.
The Riyadah 13 project aims to engage and empower Libyan youth to tackle climate change through a national competition for climate initiatives. The project will promote a culture of climate innovation at the local level, establish a network of climate ambassadors, and propose youth-led solutions to influence national climate policy reforms. More specifically, the project aims to achieve the following objectives:
Empower young Libyans to develop and submit innovative climate action initiatives, with a target of at least 300 submissions.
Establish a network of 20 youth climate ambassadors to promote sustainable climate action at the grassroots level.
Amplify youth voices through media coverage and stakeholder engagement to influence national climate policies..
All-expenses paid trip to Benghazi to participate in training and workshops, including site visits and team building activities to compete in the national competition.
An Ipad each for the top 3 winners.
Funding the winner initiative to be implemented by Perpetual Peace Foundation on the national level.
Opportunity to attend the COP30 in Brazil.
Contribute meaningful solutions to Libya's climate issues.

Libyan youth aged 18-35, including university students, graduates, researchers, and climate activists.

A panel of experts will review submissions based on creativity, feasibility, and impact potential.
